Celtic Manager: We need to quickly bounce back after matchday defeat.

It was a night of less joy for Ange Postecoglou as his Celtic team were defeated 2-1 to Hearts at Tynecastle, with Anthony Ralston's wonderful strike ruled out by goals from Gary Mackay-Steven and Jon Souttar.

The coach gave debuts to Swedish center back, Carl Starfelt from the beginning, and Japanese forward, Kyogo Furuhashi as a substitute in the second period, but despite gaining the possession battle for most of the match, a late goal for the home team saw the Hoops suffer loss in their opening game of the new Premiership campaign.

The Hoops boss was disappointed with the outcome, but he is looking for his team to regain their form immediately in the busy timing of games ahead.

Speaking after the match he said: It was greately disappointing. After a tough first five minutes, I think we went into the match and we kind of took controlled of the match.

Some of our display in the front third wasn't excellent and we didn't really build on on the possession we gained. But we got ourselves back into the match and I reasoned at that stage we looked like we'd go on with it, so it was disappointing to concede a goal at the end of the game.

The coach said: It is unfair on some players because Carl did one session of training and Kyogo just joined the squad today, but I just thought we needed some new legs after Wednesday 120 minutes of play.

They will improve once they get into training and get to understand the way we play and their other teammates, so they will build up.

The next fixture for Celtic is this Thursday in the Europa League when the Hoops journey to the Czech Republic to play on FK Jablonec.

The manager added: It is another chance for us to forget this disappointment and look at what is ahead of us, and gain confidence and momentum.
